Who does what

Full-mouth implant treatment replaces every tooth in one or both jaws, either with fixed bridges or with removable dentures that clip onto implants.

We do not place implants. Your dentist or implant surgeon plans and performs the surgery. Our part is the teeth: we take the records, make the prosthesis in our lab in Oak Park, fit it, and repair it if it ever chips. Full-mouth does not have to mean the same thing top and bottom

Replacing every tooth in both jaws is a big project, and each jaw can be treated differently. That flexibility is the part most people are not told about.

Upper dentures usually stay in well on their own, because they seal against the palate. Lower dentures are the ones that float, because there is far less for them to grip. So a common and sensible combination is a well-made conventional upper denture with a snap-on lower denture on two to four implants. It fixes the main complaint for a fraction of the cost of two fixed bridges.

The options for each jaw

• Fixed bridge on four to six implants (All-on-4, All-on-5, 3-on-6). Only your dentist removes it.
• Snap-on overdenture on two to four implants. You clip it out to clean it. Upper snap-on dentures usually need four implants because the bone is softer.
• Conventional denture, no implants at all. Our full dentures start from $1,100 per arch.

What a staged plan looks like

Many people do this in stages rather than all at once. A typical path:

1. Remove failing teeth and fit immediate dentures the same day, so you are never without teeth.
2. Let the gums heal for a few months, with soft relines to keep the fit snug.
3. Have implants placed in the jaw that bothers you most, usually the lower.
4. Convert or replace the denture on that jaw once the implants have healed.

Staging spreads the cost and lets you decide on the second jaw after living with the first.

• Do both jaws need implants, or would one be enough?
• What would a staged plan cost compared with doing both at once?
• Which parts of the quote are surgery and which are the teeth?

• Snap-on dentures clip onto two to four implants placed by your dentist. Our denture fee is $2,200-$4,200 per arch, and the implant surgery is quoted separately by your dentist. Far fewer implants than a full-arch bridge.
• Full dentures from $1,100 per arch, made and fitted here, with no surgery.
• Immediate dentures from $1,450 per arch, fitted the same day your teeth come out, so you are never without teeth.
• Relines from $290 if your current denture is loose and you are not ready to replace it.
